About Us
As with all the best ideas, classic racks was born out of necessity when Didge inherited his Dad's Vespa GTS 250 and set about turning this commuter scooter into something more suited to his taste (no offence Dad!). After considerable time and effort to modify the scoot to a 'blacked out stealth look', he was disappointed to find that the choice of racks was limited to standard Vespa chrome or top boxes.
It was whist discussing the problem with his friend Gilly, a professional blacksmith who is also a member of the ISCA Scooter Club, that they came up with the idea of making their own. Taking their inspiration from the classic design of the Lambretta sprint rack, the pair set about designed a stylish and discreet rack that fitted onto the existing mounting holes of the modern Vespa.
After a number of failed attempts, the 'classic rack' prototype was created and fitted onto Didge's newly styled GTS. After the transformation pictures were posted on the GTS Owners Club forum, requests for racks started coming in from other scooterists and Classic Racks was born!
